I enjoyed the story and the usual characters, but I cannot quite out my finger on what was missing. There wasn't quite the vibrancy about it. I couldn't read it in one sitting which I normally do. It felt a bit like a diluted J. D. Robb, less sparkle. Good enough for most authors but not her. Felt a bit like another writer had written it.
